Lyman M. Dally is an illustrator and former competitive bodybuilder[1][2] perhaps best known for the comic strip Max Rep: Mr. Astrotitan 2206 appearing in FLEX in the late 1980's and Muscular Development throughout the 90's until its cancellation, though Dally continued to illustrate articles for MD afterward. After the cancellation he created the comic book Max Rep in the Age of Astrotitans through Dumbbell Press, an independent comic book publishing company he owned and operated. The comic book had a run of two issues and was reviewed by comics critic Beth Hannan Rimmels in the 4/30/98 issue of the Long Island Voice[3]. The character Quadra Blu returned in the webcomic Steroids 'n' Asteroids with Quadra Blu in 2011.[4]
In recent years Dally has moved beyond the bodybuilding industry, most notably as a fine artist exploring his other passion, fine wine. His painting Red Overhead won First Place in the Oil/Actylic Painting category at the 10th Annual Gaelen Juried Art Show & Sale.
Prior to his most recent series about Quadra Blu, Dally's webcomic Living With Les, about a laid-off Wall Streeter forced to move back in with his parents, was launched in early 2009, and is building a following of fans both employed and unemployed.[5]
